Main Square Montessori Tuition

Each family establishes their contract to attend our 12 month program in August of each year, or upon initial enrollment. Tuition includes nine hours of care each day. Families that are interested in additional care may add additional time at the cost of $2.60 per 1/2 hour. Tuition, for some families, may be supplemented by scholarships provided by the Hiawatha Education Foundation or county assistance.

The mission of Main Square Montessori is to serve a socio-economically diverse community of families. We accept children who receive childcare assistance funding from county services and also offer tuition assistance to families in need. Tuition grant amounts are based on need and funding is supported by the Hiawatha Education Foundation. All families attending MSM will be responsible for a co-pay amount, to be determined by the financial assistance application. We encourage all families to apply!

We want to make payment convenient for each family. For this reason, there are a variety of payment options.

Monthly: Tuition may be paid by 5:00 p.m. on the 15th of each month
Bi-monthly: Tuition may be paid by 5:00 p.m. on the 1st and 15th of each month
Weekly: Tuition may be paid weekly, on Fridays, by 5:00 p.m.

Financial Aid & Support

Local families who are unable to pay the posted tuition rate are welcome to apply for financial aid, which allows families to pay a reduced tuition amount based on their individual circumstance.

Cotter uses a system called "Facts Grant & Aid" to process applications and evaluate eligibility for Financial Aid. There is a $40 fee to submit an application. If, after completing the application, it is determined that a family does not qualify for financial aid, the fee will be refunded. Apply for Financial Aid.

Seeds of Faith Catholic School Tuition Assistance

The Catholic Foundation of Southern Minnesota has announced the availability of $137,300 to be awarded in "Seeds of Faith Catholic School Tuition Assistance" scholarships for the 2023-2024 school year. These scholarships come from a $2 million endowment established during the Seeds of Faith capital campaign. The endowment provides annual income designated "to provide tuition assistance to parents who seek a Catholic education for their children and who demonstrate a financial need."

As you consider your decision to apply for scholarship awards, please keep in mind that Seeds of Faith scholarships are need-based, and that the funds are available only to families who are not able to enroll their students in Catholic schools because of limited income and work opportunities. This is not an academic scholarship fund.

Applications must be completed by parents and submitted to your pastor. Please note that Section B and Section E must be completed by your pastor and/or school administrator. After completing these sections, your pastor will submit your application to Catholic Foundation of Southern MN (PO Box 30098, Winona MN).

Final submission deadline to the Foundation is June 2, 2023

Recipients will be notified of the committee's decision in July 2023, with scholarship money sent directly to school accounts. Scholarships are for the 2023-2024 school year and cannot be used to pay overdue tuition.

Paper application forms are available in the Cotter business office and all of the Main Offices.
